Frequently asked questions
Do I need any special training to use qedata?
Qedata was not designed with only the business user in mind, so
there is no need to be a database expert and so no special training is
required. In addition, there is no special installation software or programming
required either.
Do I need any special equipment to get started?
You only need your computer and a common web browser. Once you have
these two basic items, you can create your database and get your business
up and running.
How many people can use my new database?
You can make your database accessible to one person, two people or as
many as you like. Our security platform will ensure that you can designate
different levels of access to your database to different people (see our
Tutorial and Features).
Can I share information with anybody outside of my organization?
Yes. You can control access to your information in a number of ways and
limit, or expand, the number of users as needed.
Can I prevent anybody outside of my organization from viewing
my data?
Yes. You can control access to your information in a number of ways and
limit, or expand, the number of users as needed.
Can I use data that I've already stored in a spreadsheet?
Qedata has a feature that makes it easy to import existing data into
a database. This means you can take your current information and, without
having to re-key it, immediately share it and collaborate with whoever
you choose.
Can I export my data into a spreadsheet?
Absolutely. qedata makes it easy to export your data into any spreadsheet.
I work at a big company. Can I still use qedata?
Qedata was designed with the small business user and individual user,
but as it turns out, can be used by companies of all sizes to address
information sharing and management challenges. Corporate workgroups have
found it the ideal quick deployment solution with no installation, programming,
or IS/IT assistance required.
How does qedata save my company money?
By allowing even non-techical users to quickly and easily create
their own online databases, qedata has effectively eliminated the need
for software-based solutions. In addition, because you can easily maintain
and update your database at your leisure, whether it be automatic, such
as the updating of the customers that visit your web site and their purchases,
or manual, you will no longer require expensive IT maintenance help. In
fact, all you need is what you have anyway: a brain, a computer and a
browser. It really is just as easy as that.
Can I use a 56K modem?
Absolutely. We designed qedata to be quick and
responsive. That means that even with 56K modems, your database is easily
accessible and manageable.
Can I use qedata for personal use?
Of course. qedata was designed for business use,
but it is so easy to use that there is no reason why you could not use
if for sharing information with family and friends or for just keeping
track of anything you like.
Can I use qedata to share photographs?
Absolutely. qedata's features allow you to create an application
whereby you can store and share your photographs. You can then direct
anybody that you would like to share your photographs with to your application.
As with most of the applications created with qedata, you can do so in
minutes.
Why is qedata so easy to use?
Because qedata requires no training, installation,
or programming, and because it is so easy to create, it takes very little
time to set up databases.
Why an online database?
The answer is easy: a web database is the quickest, easiest and most
cost-effective way to create and maintain an interactive database. There
is no software involved, so there is no need for software installation.
Because there is no need to install anything, it takes up no space on
your hard drive, and there is no upgrading necessary.
Is qedata a "dot.com"?
Qedata is a service offered by an established software and web services
developer. Starting with a big idea, and working from the qedata framework,
we decided to create a tool that would allow any Internet user the possibility
of creating their own database.
Other, less frequently asked questions
I don't have access to a computer. Can I still use qedata?
Interesting. No. While we would like qedata to be accessible
to everyone, you still need access to a computer to be able to use its
features.
